PROJECT SUMMARY
An AR concept for Nike Run Club to motivate runners to reach their goal through gamification.
PURPOSE
It’s hard to always be motivated to run.
This is a fact for even the most disciplined runners. NRC has been integrating different strategies to try make running more pleasurable, but it’s just not that easy when you have to make sure you are at the right pace, going the right route, listening to the right music, AND having fun.
GAMIFY THE RUNNING PROCESS
Inspired by Nike’s Go BKK campaign, I realized tha an AR scavenger hunt experience for glasses would be the perfect solution for this problem. AR coins can be placed along the route to gamify the running experience, so the routine run can become a real life Super Mario game. Runner’s stats as well as GPS navigation can also be displayed on the glasses to help them keep track of their run.
PROOF OF CONCEPT
I created a demo scene using Reality Composer to mimic what NRC AR looks like from the perspective of a runner with AR glasses.
